About Dr McLean

Erika McLean graduated with her MD from the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2002. She then pursued her residency in Pediatrics at the Children's Hospital of Buffalo in Buffalo, NY. Her passion for teaching earned her two Teaching Awards during residency, and most recently, in the Family Medicine Residency Program, Preceptor of the Year. Currently, she is working in the Family Medicine Faculty at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL, where she is also Director of the Pediatrics Clerkship and works as a Hospitalist.
She has seen first-hand how brilliant residents struggle to adapt to the medical culture in the United States. This has made her passionate about empowering all medical graduates to reach their full potential, as well as ease, their transition into the medical system as valuable members of the medical team.
