1. Introduction to Medicine in the US:
Learn what you need to know about chart organization, billing, structure of hospital rounds and clinic visits. Discover where most FMGs struggle. Learn what the difference is between a good resident and a great resident.
2. Deep Dive:
Dive into the most common electronic medical records system in the US: EPIC, and learn how to get the most for your time spent reading charts.
Homework: Research a patient and be prepared to report your findings at the next meeting. 3. Templates and Smart Phrases for Fast, Accurate Note Writing: Learn how to create, copy and use them to your advantage to work faster and smarter.
Homework: Write a note to review at next meeting.
4. How to Present patients on Rounds:
Present in front of other students and get prepared to answer difficult questions and present a well-thought out plan for your patient.
Homework: Practice presenting in front of a mirror using helpful hints from website.
5. Additional tools:
Understand the role of different staff members and how to use them as resources, learn how to arrange for a consult, and how to not fall behind with your notes and inbox.
